We are going back to the office!

Almost exactly four years ago, we sent out an email to our community around navigating the moment of uncertainty that we were entering into, before covid had even been named a pandemic. So much has changed in this world since then, and so much remains the same about what we know around creating, regenerating and finding safety and wellbeing amongst each other.

We’re inviting you into many of the same practices we asked you into four years ago as we prepare to offer in-person sessions again at our office. We stand by our insistence that telehealth offers deep, rich and life changing healing. We’ve learned this from our disability justice elders and comrades and the last four years have shown us just how much is possible when we pivot to meet “what is” inside of our world. We also know that being body to body is invaluable. We hold the importance of hybrid work and will continue to offer both in-person and video sessions.

We continue to acknowledge the inherent ableism in the policy shifts that are no longer taking covid seriously. For those who are immunocompromised, the threat hasn’t lessened. Please continue to follow your intuition and your embodied sense of knowing about what is best for you and the people close to you.

We hold this return to office with lots of care, excitement, and serious planning. You might be inspired by these words from Dori Midnight. Please read to the end of this blog post!

Wash your hands like you are washing the only teacup left that your great grandmother carried across the ocean, like you are washing the hair of a beloved who is dying, like you are washing the feet of Grace Lee Boggs, Beyonce, Jesus, your auntie, Audre Lorde, Mary Oliver- you get the picture. -Dori Midnight

Starting In-Person Sessions

Many of our clinicians are starting in-person sessions.  If you would like to begin in-person mental health or nutrition counseling, please contact us and schedule a consultation with our client care coordinator.

All of our team members are in full choice about the frequency they see clients in the office. Please know that their schedule may not be able to accommodate an in person appointment. They will do their best, in alignment with their capacity to see you in person.

When in our offices, we will be observing the following practices:

  • Please bring your own kn95 mask or equivalent and wear it in the office. Cloth masks, surgical masks, or similar face coverings do not provide adequate protection. Your appointment will be automatically canceled and you will be charged the full session amount if you fail to mask appropriately. We keep each other and our team safe!
  • Masks will be kept on at all times while on Have Heart premises
  • Wash your hands for at least 20 seconds or use hand sanitizer when entering and before your appointment
  • Even while masked, best practice is to cover your mouth if you should need to cough. Wash or sanitize your hands after
  • Avoid touching your face
  • Please bring your own water or tea – you may pull your mask down to sip water or tea and then replace it
